Corporate Gifting in the Time of Corona
Well, 2020 has been quite the roller coaster… going at warp speed, careening off the track, with a faulty safety harness.
It seems that everything has changed, and gifting is no exception. If you are sending gifts to clients, employees and other business contacts, you must adjust your approach to align with the current circumstances.
Gifting is incredibly important right now, as in person meetings and events have come to a halt. A thoughtful gift is a safe and meaningful way to connect, delight clients and prospects, and show your appreciation for employees.
Gifting can also take the place of in person events, or become a supplement to a virtual meeting or event. (Think: virtual happy hour, fundraiser, or conference)
Below, I share some of my favorite products for corporate gifting during the Covid-19 pandemic. Ideally, I would include one to two items from each category in a curated gift box.
Health & Safety
Hand Sanitizer: Hand sanitizer is still hard to come by in some areas and is a Covid-19 essential.
Hand Soap: Like hand sanitizer, soap is critical in the fight against Covid-19. A high quality scented soap can be a little bit of luxury when frequently hand-washing.
Face Covering/Mask: Masks are another Covid-19 necessity. A well designed mask would certainly be utilized and appreciated.
I would stay away from gifting branded masks, though you could certainly give them away to employees. It’s not really a gift if you are asking someone to be a walking billboard for your company. If you are gifting to clients, it could be a nice touch to have masks made with their logo.
Touchless Keychain: This antimicrobial keychain allows the operator to push buttons, open doors and operate pin pads without using their hands, protecting from germs and helping to keep them safe.
Comfort
Relaxation Tools: With the pandemic, current political climate, and cold weather on the way; comfort is key! Items such as socks, an eye mask, neck wrap, cozy blanket, meditation app subscription, and a motivational book or cards can all aid in rest and relaxation.
Work From Home Accessories: So many of us are working remotely, and gifts for the home office are a welcome surprise. These items make working from home easier and more enjoyable; such as noise cancelling headphones, selfie light, wireless charger, planner, coffee warmer, insulated mug, reusable water bottle, candle or plant.
Food and Beverage: Tea, coffee and snacks are welcome treats!
Activities
Puzzles and Games: Puzzles and games are a great way to beat boredom and ward off the feelings of isolation while staying at home. Personalize your selection for individuals or families to keep the kids entertained and engaged as well.
Event in a Box: Send all of the ingredients for an at-home experience. The options are endless, and you can really get creative!
Pizza Night: Include dough, sauce, cheese, toppings, and wine
Movie Night: Include popcorn, candy, blanket and Netflix gift card
Mixology: Include cocktail shaker, instructions, glass and mix
